Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes
• Support the front office team with scheduling and patient flow as needed

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training preferred
• Current Maryland dental radiography certification
• Prior experience working in an orthodontic practice is a plus
• Strong patient care skills and a friendly, reassuring demeanor
• Ability to work evening hours, from 12:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members
• Strong attention to detail and infection control standards
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental office
