Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care as OR circulator for orthopedic and general surgery cases
• Perform PACU/post-anesthesia monitoring and recovery care, ensuring smooth transitions from OR to discharge
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative staff to coordinate patient care and maintain flow
• Assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, monitor vitals, manage pain relief, and respond to changes in condition
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and handoffs in the patient record
• Adhere to sterile technique, infection control standards, and facility policies to protect patient safety
• Educate patients and families on perioperative expectations, recovery milestones, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Colorado RN license (required)
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Experience in OR circulation and PACU nursing, ideally with orthopedic and general surgery cases
• Strong patient assessment skills and comfort managing post-anesthesia recovery
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary surgical teams and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Current TB screening and immunizations per facility policy (as applicable)

• Preoperative patient preparation and education
• Orthopedic surgery workflows and instrumentation familiarity
• General surgery case knowledge
• Medication administration, IV management, and pain control strategies
• Excellent communication, situational awareness, and teamwork
