Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU with vigilance and compassion
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care, including medication administration and ventilator support as appropriate
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapy, and specialists — to drive best outcomes
• Document care accurately and promptly in the patient record to ensure continuity and safety
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns to the care team
• Participate in orientation and unit-based training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential — active and in good standing
• Experience or clinical background in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and CCRN are a plus
• Comfort working in high-acuity pediatric settings and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and dedication to family-centered care

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) or equivalent clinical nursing education

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and common PICU interventions
• Familiarity with bedside monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive medications
• Skillful clinical assessment and timely intervention for rapidly changing patient conditions
• Effective documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) use
• Teamwork, clear communication with families, and a calm approach under pressure
