Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Start Date: 07-06-2026
End Date: 10-05-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, every third holiday
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, neurological, and renal conditions
- Titrate intravenous drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications
- Perform continuous EEG monitoring and interpret telemetry readings
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on disease management and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or step-down experience
- Ability to titrate drips and manage complex patients
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Progressive care nursing standards and protocols
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- Stroke and neurological assessment
- IV therapy and medication titration
- Patient education and discharge planning
- Use of electronic medical records (EMR)
