Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for surgical patients
- Prepare the operating room and ensure sterile technique and instrument readiness
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes
- Perform patient assessments, monitor intraoperative status and respond to changes
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Advocate for patient safety and comfort before, during and after procedures
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Arizona licensure or compact eligibility preferred
- Experience in Operating Room (OR) - General preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; perioperative certifications a plus
- Strong clinical assessment skills and experience with perioperative workflows
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Aseptic and sterile technique mastery
- Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR protocols
- Patient assessment and perioperative monitoring skills
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and act proactively
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care clearly
