Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled perioperative nursing care in the operating room for a variety of general surgery procedures
- Prepare the OR environment, instruments, and supplies to ensure a safe, efficient case
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and the perioperative team to deliver excellent patient outcomes
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes during the perioperative period
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection control and safety standards
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to continuous improvement of OR processes
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Arizona (or eligibility to obtain AZ licensure)
- Minimum perioperative experience preferred (OR exposure is a strong plus)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, CNOR) preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative nursing principles
- Familiarity with common surgical instruments, supplies, and sterilization practices
- Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and think ahead during procedures
- Proficient in documentation and electronic medical record use
- Calm under pressure with strong prioritization and time-management skills
