Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to a diverse patient population on a 24-bed med/surg telemetry unit
• Monitor telemetry strips and interpret cardiac rhythms to ensure patient safety
• Administer medications, manage IV drips (set rate), and perform treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators to deliver high-quality care
• Float to all med/surg units as needed to support the team
• Maintain accurate patient records using Paragon charting system

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (or compact state) - must be ready to submit upon job offer
• Minimum 3 years of recent med/surg telemetry experience
• BLS Certification required
• Must have great communication and time management skills
• Ability to read telemetry strips and respond appropriately

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and strip reading proficiency
• Experience with Paragon electronic health record system
• Strong understanding of common diagnoses: CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care setting
