Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist during procedures such as braces fittings and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Take dental X-rays and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Assistant certification in Maryland
• X-ray license required
• Prior orthodontic experience preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Proficient in taking X-rays and impressions
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and infection control protocols
