Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontist during procedures such as braces fittings and adjustments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Take dental X-rays and impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Assistant certification in Maryland
- X-ray license required
- Prior orthodontic experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
- Proficient in taking X-rays and impressions
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and infection control protocols
