Location: Sacramento, CA

Start Date: 05-08-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shift blocks (no break), exact days and start/end times vary by facility; schedule may include day, evening or night assignments as needed — orientation included

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg and pediatric patients
Assess patients regularly and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Monitor patient progress, report changes and escalate concerns promptly
Support family education and communication during the care experience
Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain a high standard of care

Qualifications

Active California RN license required
Current BLS certification required; PALS or pediatric certification preferred
Experience in Med/Surg and/or Pediatrics preferred
Ability to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and clinical monitoring
Medication administration and documentation practices
Pediatric care principles and Med/Surg nursing skills
IV therapy and basic procedures
Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced setting
