Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit with safety and compassion
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and discharge instructions
• Document care clearly and timely in the medical record to support continuity
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining patient comfort
• Champion infection control and patient safety practices on every shift

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact/eligible for Louisiana licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS a plus
• 1+ year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage time, and work in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices
• Strong patient education and discharge planning abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams
• Calm under pressure with effective problem-solving skills
