Roles & Responsibilities

• Facilitate and oversee infusion patient referrals to other offices or specialties for continuation of care
• Coordinate and schedule appointments for infusion patients, ensuring timely care
• Monitor patient reactions to drugs, treatments, and immunizations; report and document findings
• Administer specialty IV fluids via peripherally or centrally placed catheters following infusion order sets
• Maintain central lines, PICCs, and other IV access devices per INS/ONS guidelines
• Educate patients and families about post-discharge care programs
• Provide guidance and direction to healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in immunotherapy/chemotherapy specialty medications
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Prior experience in infusion or oncology nursing preferred
• Must have a valid Alaska driver's license? (Not specified, but location may require)

Education

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of nursing care plans, regulatory documentation, and age-specific care
• Knowledge of disease processes, pharmacology, and therapeutic interventions
• Skill in operating IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, and electronic health records
• Ability to manage high patient volumes, think critically, and respond to emergencies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
