Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and adolescent patients in a fast-paced Med Surg ICU
• Assess, monitor, and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data to guide timely interventions
• Manage ventilators and troubleshoot high-flow, CPAP, BiPAP, and other respiratory equipment as needed
• Administer, titrate, and monitor vasoactive drips, paralytics, sedatives, and analgesics safely
• Respond to codes and rapid response events and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, RTs, and residents
• Care for patients with advanced support devices such as Impella, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, CVPs, arterial lines, and CRRT
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC and participate in unit quality and safety processes
• Support orientation and precept new staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a helpful attitude

Qualifications

• Active RN license appropriate for practice and ability to submit license at time of application
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Ability to pass unit orientation pass/fail exam with a 90% score (open book, resources provided)
• Willingness to follow unit policies such as no artificial nails in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation skills and comfort reading strips independently
• Proficiency troubleshooting ventilators and respiratory support devices
• Experience titrating and managing drips including vasopressors and sedation
• Familiarity or willingness to train on CRRT, Swan-Ganz, ICP monitoring, and mechanical circulatory support
• Comfort using EPIC for charting and documentation
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills for high-acuity care
