Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, evidence-based critical care to ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Continuously assess and monitor patients using advanced hemodynamic and ventilator parameters
• Administer medications, titrate infusions, and respond to condition changes quickly and safely
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about condition, care plans, and post-discharge needs in a clear, supportive way
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license—Louisiana state license or compact RN where applicable
• ICU clinical experience preferred; ability to manage critically ill patients with confidence
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred or obtainable
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and communicate clearly with families and staff

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of an accredited nursing program and successful NCLEX-RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ICU monitoring and assessment, including ventilator and hemodynamic management
• Familiarity with common ICU equipment and infusions
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent prioritization, time management, and delegation skills
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy abilities
