Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead ICU teams across multiple critical care units including MICU, SICU, TICU, and CVICU
• Respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the hospital as the designated Charge Nurse
• Float within a 60-mile zone to support sister facilities and fill critical staffing needs
• Titrate critical drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Interpret telemetry strips and manage respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Provide compassionate care to high-acuity ICU patients requiring 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active Colorado or Compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with prior Charge Nurse experience
• Epic experience preferred, especially for first-time travelers who need 3+ years ICU experience
• Comfortable floating between ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry units

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and decision-making abilities
• Experience managing complex ICU equipment and multiple titratable drips
• Excellent communication skills for leading rapid responses and supporting interdisciplinary teams
• Flexibility to adapt to different facilities and patient populations within the zone
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
