Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department
• Triage and assess patients rapidly to prioritize care
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Participate in quality improvement and department initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Louisiana) or compact RN license as applicable
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Emergency department experience preferred; new grads with strong ED clinical exposure welcome to apply
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Trauma and acute care familiarity
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Clear communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting care accurately
