Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients promptly to prioritize urgent care needs
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in the emergency department
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate care as needed
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during stressful moments
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based performance goals

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility for licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required based on facility policy
• Previous emergency department nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and collaborate with a team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency nursing workflows
• Trauma assessment and stabilization principles
• IV therapy, medication administration, and advanced clinical skills
• Proficient charting in electronic health record systems
• Excellent communication and team-based problem solving
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
