Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced ED environment
• Stabilize and manage acute medical and traumatic presentations
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during stressful situations
• Perform timely, accurate documentation in the medical record and support smooth patient throughput
• Participate in orientation activities and precepting as assigned

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire (or eligible for licensure)
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort and experience working in emergency/acute care settings (ED experience preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize in a busy ED
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; dependable and professional

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage principles
• Wound care, IV therapy and medication administration
• Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support knowledge
• Patient safety practices and infection control
• Clear documentation and time management in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make timely decisions
