Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in the ED
• Perform rapid triage, assessment and stabilization of emergent patients
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the medical record clearly
• Educate patients and families about conditions, interventions and follow-up plans
• Act quickly and calmly during trauma and high-acuity situations to improve outcomes
• Participate in unit-level quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Hawaii (required)
• Registered Nurse (RN) with ED/ER experience (core requirement)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfortable working 12.5-hour acute care shifts in a fast-paced emergency department
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass facility background and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and active RN license

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills with rapid decision-making
• Trauma and acute care interventions and stabilization techniques
• IV therapy, medication administration and monitoring of critically ill patients
• Clear, concise clinical documentation and electronic health record familiarity
• Teamwork, delegation and the ability to coordinate care under pressure
• Patient- and family-centered communication in diverse populations
