Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care to cardiac and vascular patients, including post-surgical and downgraded CVICU patients
• Titrate critical drips such as Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, and cardizem for blood pressure management
• Interpret telemetry strips and monitor patient cardiac rhythms remotely
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, intensivists, and cardiologists on call
• Float to units of same or lower acuity as needed
• Maintain a safe environment adhering to fingernail policy and infection control

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience with this patient population
• Valid driver's license (required for submittal to verify 50-mile radius rule)
• Must not be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in titrating drips and managing hemodynamics
• Telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and nasal cannula respiratory equipment
• Strong assessment skills for post-surgical and cardiac patients
• Ability to work in a fast-paced CVU environment
