Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity care for cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart surgery, TAVR, AAA repair, and more
• Manage epidural and chest tube drainage systems
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as heparin, amiodarone, milrinone, and vasopressors
• Monitor telemetry and stepdown patients, ensuring early detection of rhythm changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, 40-bed CVPC unit
• Utilize Cerner EMR for accurate documentation and care coordination

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of stepdown or telemetry experience required
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Prior experience with cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery populations strongly preferred
• CVICU experience is a plus
• Team player with flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Skilled in managing cardiac drips including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine
• Competent in using Cerner EMR
• Knowledge of epidural and chest tube management
• Comfortable with tube feedings and IV glucommander
