Shift Type: Rotating shifts (day and night coverage). Day shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; rotating schedule with varying weekends (at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients’ respiratory status, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators (adult and pediatric) and non-invasive devices
• Provide ventilator support during patient transport using transport ventilators
• Titrate oxygen therapies and high-flow devices to optimize patient outcomes
• Document clinical care accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across critical care units to coordinate safe patient care
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment
• Float across critical care and pediatric/neonatal areas as needed to meet unit needs

Qualifications

• North Carolina Respiratory License (required)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (required)
• NRP (preferred)
• At least 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience (critical care/peds/transport experience a plus)
• Comfortable working rotating shifts, including nights and scheduled weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong mechanical ventilation skills, including adult and pediatric ventilator management
• Experience with GE R860, Draeger (infant/peds), Newport HT70 transport ventilator
• Proficiency with non-invasive ventilation (V60) and high-flow oxygen systems (Vapotherm, Comfort Flow)
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for charting and clinical workflows
• Critical care respiratory therapy and pediatric/neonatal respiratory care expertise
• Patient transport ventilator experience and safe transport practices
