Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during exams, adjustments, and orthodontic procedures to keep visits running smoothly
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments, making sure everything meets strict infection control standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays, impressions, and digital scans as needed for accurate treatment planning
• Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene to help them get the best results
• Maintain patient records and chart treatment updates in the dental software system (Denticon)
• Manage inventory and restock supplies so the office is always ready for the next patient

Qualifications

• Holds a Maryland Dental Assistant certification or is actively working toward it
• Certified in dental radiography/X-rays - we want you to be confident behind the camera
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a big plus, but a great attitude is a must
• Current CPR/BLS certification is preferred
• Able to work the 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM shift schedule
• Ready to jump in and assist the orthodontist in a busy, patient-centered office

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology, orthodontic instruments, and sterilization best practices
• Familiarity with digital radiography and dental practice management software
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-first bedside manner
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise orthodontic workflows
• Team player who works well with dentists, hygienists, and front office staff
