Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide gentle, thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to patients
• Assess oral health and communicate findings and recommendations to patients and the dentist
• Take and process dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort and safety
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and overall oral hygiene habits
• Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a clean, sterile treatment environment
• Document patient care accurately and maintain up-to-date records

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in dental hygiene and patient care
• Proficiency with dental software and digital radiography
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to infection control and safety standards

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and best practices
• Skilled in patient assessment and oral health education
• Familiarity with dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and X-ray equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced dental practice
