Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly, communicating any changes to nursing staff
• Assist with safe and comfortable patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations in resident charts
• Follow infection control policies and facility procedures to keep residents and coworkers safe
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Create a warm, reassuring presence for residents — emotional support and friendly interaction matter

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Pennsylvania
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Proof of required immunizations and TB test as per facility policy
• Clear background check and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude and strong communication skills
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification in Pennsylvania

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, weight, and simple observations
• Good documentation and charting habits
• Infection control and standard precautions knowledge
• Teamwork, time management, and effective communication with residents and staff
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nurses
