Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care and assist with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility safely
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report concerns to nursing staff
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control practices
• Document resident care and changes in condition clearly and promptly
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident well-being
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or must obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a resident-first attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing helpful but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in performing ADLs and resident hygiene assistance
• Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Team-oriented with the ability to follow care plans and directions
• Familiarity with patient privacy (HIPAA) and professional boundaries
