Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care and assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help ensure resident comfort and safety by following care plans and reporting changes promptly
• Take and record vital signs and observations accurately to support clinical decisions
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling practices
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Document care activities timely and accurately in the resident record
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with lifting and providing hands-on patient care
• Background check and any facility-required screenings clear
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care routines
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
• Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
• Time management skills to prioritize resident needs during your shift
