Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care and assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Help ensure resident comfort and safety by following care plans and reporting changes promptly
- Take and record vital signs and observations accurately to support clinical decisions
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe patient handling practices
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and the care team
- Document care activities timely and accurately in the resident record
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable with lifting and providing hands-on patient care
- Background check and any facility-required screenings clear
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and resident care routines
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and interdisciplinary teams
- Time management skills to prioritize resident needs during your shift
