Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support to promote resident independence
- Monitor and document resident condition, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support mealtime needs and dietary assistance while honoring resident preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care plans
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — must be valid in Connecticut or eligible to obtain
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Willingness to work 8-hour shifts and be flexible with scheduling
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care
- Basic infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Familiarity with patient lifting and transfer techniques
- Accurate documentation and charting skills
- Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize resident needs
