Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (acute care). Exact start/end times and specific days to be confirmed with scheduling team.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive direct patient care in an acute care setting with compassion and professionalism
Assist nursing staff with activities of daily living, mobility, and patient comfort
Monitor and record vital signs and report changes promptly to the clinical team
Maintain accurate documentation and follow established care plans and protocols
Support infection control practices, safe patient handling, and unit safety standards
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other team members to deliver coordinated care
Communicate effectively with patients and families to explain care activities and provide reassurance

Qualifications

Current CNA certification required
State authorization to practice in Hawaii or ability to obtain required state credentials
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Prior acute care experience preferred but new grads with acute care orientation are welcome
Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a patient-centered attitude

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamental patient care skills and comfort with bedside assistance
Accurate vital signs collection and documentation practices
Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills
