Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Accurately take and record vital signs and report significant changes to the nursing team
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility to promote safety and comfort
• Maintain timely, clear documentation in patient records
• Adhere to infection control practices and promote a safe environment
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, patients, and families
• Respond promptly in urgent situations following established unit protocols

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification or equivalent (Hawaii CNA preferred or must be eligible for Hawaii certification)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Previous acute care experience preferred (helpful but not required)
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of basic clinical skills: ADLs, vital signs, and patient hygiene
• Reliable and accurate documentation and charting practices
• Good observational skills and the ability to identify changes in patient condition
• Teamwork, adaptability, and effective time management
• Familiarity with infection prevention and patient safety procedures
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
