Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in resident condition promptly
• Support safe transfers and proper use of mobility aids and lifting devices
• Maintain accurate resident documentation and communicate with nursing staff
• Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Build trusting, respectful relationships with residents and their families
• Participate in team huddles and collaborate to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfort working with geriatric and long-term care populations
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred or obtained upon hire

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in assisting with ADLs and resident hygiene
• Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Basic skills in taking vital signs and observing/reporting changes
• Familiarity with long-term care routines and resident-centered approaches
• Good documentation habits and clear communication with clinical staff
• Compassion, patience, and respect for resident dignity
