Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents including bathing, dressing, and assistance with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerning changes promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, following lift and safe-handling protocols
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with infection control practices
• Communicate clearly with nurses and the care team to coordinate resident-centered care
• Document care activities in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to promote dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in PA
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Valid background check and clear health screenings (TB, immunizations) as required by the facility
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (lifting, standing, assisting patients)
• Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care best practices
• Skill in taking vital signs and recognizing basic clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and chart accurately in electronic or paper records
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
