Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting their daily needs
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes in condition
• Maintain clear, professional documentation and communicate observations to nursing staff
• Support resident comfort and safety while following infection control protocols
• Engage residents in social and recreational activities to promote quality of life
• Collaborate with the care team to meet individual care plans and resident goals

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (or ability to obtain) — state certification required
• Prior experience as a CNA preferred but enthusiastic new CNAs are welcome
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
• Reliable, compassionate, with strong verbal communication and teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of resident-centered care and basic clinical observations
• Skilled in ADLs, transfer assistance, and safe patient handling techniques
• Ability to take and document vital signs and report clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA privacy basics
• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient approach with residents and families
