Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the care team
• Document care accurately and maintain timely resident records
• Ensure a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Support resident mobility and assist with transfers and positioning as needed
• Participate in care planning and help implement individualized care goals

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Connecticut or eligible to obtain state certification
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility policy
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screening
• Reliable transportation to and from the facility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with basic patient care tasks and hygiene assistance
• Familiarity with infection control practices and proper PPE use
• Good observation skills for noting changes in resident condition
• Ability to document care concisely and accurately
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to follow care plans
• Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
• Comfort with electronic charting preferred but not required
