Roles & Responsibilities
- Scrub on diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, including right and left heart caths and structural cases
- Monitor patients intra-procedurally and provide accurate, timely documentation
- Assist with sedation management and Phase 1 recovery tasks as needed
- Demonstrate competence with IABP and Impella insertion support
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team including RN charge, lead technologist, and physicians to deliver safe, efficient care
- Support combined-unit workflow by moving between Cath Lab and EP suites when required
- Operate and troubleshoot EPIC, MacLab, and GE imaging systems during cases
Qualifications
- RCIS, RCES, or RT credential preferred (or equivalent registry/experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab and EP technologist experience
- Experience with sedation and Phase 1 recovery required; ICU or PACU background a strong plus
- Hands-on experience with IABP and Impella assist devices
- Comfortable with on-call duties and 30-minute call response
- Familiarity with EPIC, MacLab, and GE imaging systems
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to support a one-team approach
Education
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology program preferred
- Registry or certification (RCIS, RCES) or equivalent clinical experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Procedural experience: scrubbing, monitoring, documentation
- Cath Lab and EP case types including structural heart procedures (TAVR, mitral clip)
- Device familiarity: IABP and Impella
- EMR and imaging: EPIC, MacLab, GE Imaging
- Ability to manage sedation and early recovery (Phase 1)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced suite with variable case volumes
