Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics
• Perform and document clinical assessments, initiate interventions, and manage complex cases like trauma and stroke
• Administer medications, blood transfusions, and level 1 infusions safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with physicians, medics, respiratory therapists, social work and transport to coordinate rapid care
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube management, central line assistance, arterial lines and code management
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation in Meditech and communicate critical information clearly
• Support unit goals for quality metrics, including rapid door to needle stroke care and trauma response
• Be an engaged team player who mentors peers and contributes to a positive, patient-centered culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact RN license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required prior to start
• Preferred: ENPC, NRP and NIH certifications
• Demonstrated ability to care for all patient populations, including pediatrics
• Previous ED or trauma experience preferred; orientation provided for those new to the unit
• Current CPR certification and compliance with facility onboarding requirements
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast paced team environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with emergency procedures: IV access, blood transfusion, MTP activation, fluid resuscitation
• Familiarity with equipment: Level 1 infuser, Abbott Plum pumps, Lucas device, GE monitors, Glidescope
• Comfort using Meditech EMR for documentation and order entry
• Strong triage and prioritization skills in a high acuity setting
• Ability to assist with central lines, chest tubes and arterial lines
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and virtual sitter systems
