Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients when called in
• Respond promptly and professionally to on-call activations
• Assess patient status, prioritize needs, and implement appropriate interventions
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly in the chart
• Coordinate with unit staff, charge nurses and providers to ensure continuity of care
• Advocate for patient safety and escalate concerns when necessary
• Contribute to a positive team culture by assisting colleagues during peak times

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas or active Nurse Compact status
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS preferred when applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or hospital nursing experience preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Reliable transportation and readiness to respond to on-call activations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Skillful multitasking, prioritization and time management in busy settings
• Proficient documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Triage and rapid response capabilities during urgent situations
• Basic familiarity with common hospital equipment and safety protocols
