Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy MedSurg unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and safe discharge
• Escalate changes in patient condition promptly and participate in rapid response when needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (required)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year MedSurg or acute care nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with IV meds, infusion pumps, and common acute care procedures
• Strong communication skills and a teamwork-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and care planning skills that keep patients safe
• Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
• Familiarity with electronic health records (Epic experience is a plus)
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Critical thinking and clinical judgment to manage changing patient needs
