Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best outcomes
• Monitor and document patient progress and respond to changes in condition
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and self-care
• Advocate for patients and contribute to a compassionate, respectful care environment
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
• Ability to provide high-quality clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy
• Comfortable using hospital EMR systems and following established protocols
• Clear background check and drug screen as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and bedside assessment
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
• Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation standards
