Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely specimen processing and basic laboratory testing to support urgent care diagnostics
• Maintain meticulous records and ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of all specimens
• Follow established protocols for infection control, quality assurance, and safety to protect patients and staff
• Communicate clearly with clinical staff about lab results, specimen status, and any issues that arise
• Keep laboratory equipment clean, calibrated, and ready for daily use
• Support a positive patient experience by being professional, empathetic, and efficient

Qualifications

• Medical Laboratory Technician certification (required)
• Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification (required)
• 6 months to 1 year experience working as an MLT, with proven proficiency in medical terminology
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required
• Ability to work Thursdays–Fridays or Friday–Sunday schedules and adapt to changing clinic needs

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with specimen collection, labeling, and processing
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Basic familiarity with lab safety, infection control, and quality assurance practices
• Good communication skills for working with clinical teams and patients
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care environment
