Surgical Technician - Orthopedic

Location: Lamar, Colorado

Start Date: 08-17-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Generally 6:30am-2:30pm M-F with rotating On Call for nights and weekends. May have to stay late due to surgery case late.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide technical support to surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia providers in the operating room
Arrange supplies and instruments, ensuring accurate counts throughout procedures
Pass sterile instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations
Help apply dressings and prepare/preserve specimens for testing
Operate sterilizers and run tests to validate sterilization of surgical instruments
Ensure sterility of packaged supplies and proper functioning of instruments pre- and post-surgery

Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with a minimum of 5 years current experience
Registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado
Experience in orthopedic surgery required
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Strong attention to detail and aseptic technique

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in sterile processing and aseptic technique
Knowledge of orthopedic surgical instruments and procedures
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and manage supplies efficiently
Physical stamina for long periods of standing, walking, and lifting
