Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' respiratory status to provide optimal care
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies with compassion and precision
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and treatment plans
• Document patient responses to treatments and adjust therapies as needed
• Respond quickly to respiratory emergencies and help stabilize critical situations
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure readiness and safety

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Ohio (or eligibility to obtain)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• PALS or NRP certification preferred, especially for pediatric care
• Previous experience in respiratory therapy, ideally in pediatrics or acute care
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and families
• Ability to work per diem and adapt to varying schedules and patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols
• Knowledge of pediatric respiratory conditions and developmental considerations
• Patient assessment and critical thinking to make quick, informed decisions
• Excellent communication to educate and support families during care
• Time management and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation standards
