Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on respiratory disease processes, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Provide high-quality respiratory care as ordered by physicians while keeping medical and nursing staff informed
• Accept reassignment to other units when needed to support the team
• Share clinical knowledge and mentor staff and students as a role model for best practice
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care interventions

Qualifications

• Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license (must be currently active)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• BLS/BCLS certification
• NRP certification
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience

Education

• Associate's degree required
