Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts, flexible scheduling as per diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to step-down patients
Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions, intervening as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust care plans
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with protocols
Respond quickly to changes in patient status and escalate concerns

Qualifications

Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact state) required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Minimum of 1 year of step-down or acute care nursing experience preferred
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
Proficiency in IV therapy and medication administration
Knowledge of step-down unit protocols and patient care standards
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and staff
