Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor patient vital signs and report changes to the healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for children and their families during stressful moments
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or compact license eligibility
- Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
- PALS certification preferred
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for pediatrics are encouraged to apply
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of pediatric growth and development and age-appropriate care techniques
- Knowledge of pediatric medication dosing and safe administration practices
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
- Excellent interpersonal and family communication skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
- Compassion, patience, and a talent for putting children at ease
