Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient vital signs and report changes to the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain a calm, reassuring presence for children and their families during stressful moments
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or compact license eligibility
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• PALS certification preferred
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for pediatrics are encouraged to apply
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and multitasking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of pediatric growth and development and age-appropriate care techniques
• Knowledge of pediatric medication dosing and safe administration practices
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
• Excellent interpersonal and family communication skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation
• Compassion, patience, and a talent for putting children at ease
