Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists with procedures, from initial exams to bracket placement and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms for a safe, clean environment
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions
• Educate patients and their families on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
• Maintain patient records and prepare schedules to keep the office running smoothly
• Provide a warm, welcoming experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Maryland Dental Assistant certification or licensure as required (or ability to obtain)
• Experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics
• A positive, patient-friendly attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with chairside procedures
• Current CPR/BLS certification is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization best practices
• Skill in taking dental X-rays and digital impressions
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (Denticon experience a bonus)
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
