Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to ensure a safe, clean environment
• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, including bonding brackets, placing wires, and taking impressions
• Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes

Qualifications

• Current Maryland Dental Assistant certification or registration
• X-ray safety certification (Radiology) required
• Experience in orthodontics is preferred, but we welcome passionate newcomers
• CPR/BLS certification is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, materials, and procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and digital imaging systems
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced orthodontic practice
• Detail-oriented with strong infection control practices
