Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure surgical instruments are meticulously cleaned and sterilized, playing a vital role in patient safety
  • Assemble and package instrument trays with precision, ensuring everything is ready for the operating room
  • Operate sterilization equipment and maintain detailed records to uphold the highest standards
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and deliver supplies promptly
  • Follow infection prevention protocols to create a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Manage inventory levels and rotate supplies to prevent waste

Qualifications

  • HSPA or CBSPD certification is a plus, but we welcome those willing to obtain certification
  • Previous experience in sterile processing or a related field is wonderful, but not required if you're eager to learn
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for quality and safety
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited sterile processing training program (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding of sterilization standards and infection control practices
  • Ability to operate various sterilization equipment and maintain them
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and proper handling
  • Inventory management and record-keeping skills
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift moderate weights
