Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric medical-surgical patients
• Assess and monitor patients recovering from procedures such as cleft palate repair, appendectomy, and thoracic surgery
• Manage chest tubes, administer medications, and support patients with seizure management and lumbar punctures
• Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Document accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate effectively with patients and families
• Float to NICU Level 1 or 2 as needed to support team coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric med/surg experience
• Ability to float to NICU Level 1 or 2

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Strong understanding of pediatric medical-surgical nursing care
• Experience with chest tube management, lumbar punctures, and seizure care
• Knowledge of post-operative care for cleft palate, thoracic, and general surgery patients
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
