Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Closely monitor vital signs, ventilator settings, and vasoactive drips, responding quickly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments while maintaining precise documentation in Meditech EMR
• Perform and assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures, intubations, chest tube placements, and conscious sedation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized care plans
• Support and educate families during some of their most challenging moments

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state
• Current PALS and BLS certifications
• At least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience
• Prior Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience required
• Comfortable with Meditech EMR and pediatric critical care equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt to high-acuity situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with Hillrom beds, GC monitors, and ICU infusion pumps
• Knowledge of pediatric patient ratios and intensive care nursing standards
• Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
