Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and assess patient conditions, intervening swiftly when needed
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, with attention to detail
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on conditions, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Document patient data accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies
• Respond to emergencies and changes in patient status with confidence and skill

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Prior PCU, step-down, or telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) and charting systems
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
• Teamwork and collaboration across disciplines
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
